Course Description:

The Unison Administration and Optimization Fundamentals 5.x course is a three-day technical instructor-led course designed to provide operators and administrators with a clear understanding of Bytemobile Optimization solutions, how they are deployed in a network for client-server and clientless optimization, the various optimization services and methods, and supported devices and applications. Students gain an understanding of the features and administration of the Optimization and Services Node (OSN) and the Control and State Module (CSM). This course is a prerequisite for all other Bytemobile courses.

The course consists of lecture and hands-on exercises to ensure an optimized student learning experience.

Target Audience:

Bytemobile customers (external and internal) who desire an understanding of the Bytemobile product fundamentals and may be responsible for their operations, administration and maintenance.

Prerequisites:

UNIX/Linux and Windows know-how
LAN/WAN and TCP/IP networking concepts familiarity

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this training course, the student will be able to:

Define the Bytemobile Optimization product solutions, architecture, features, and functions
Understand OSN and CSM version 5.x network deployment scenarios
Manage a Bytemobile Optimization cluster from the CSM node
Configure and view events, alarms and SNMP trap destinations
Understand and configure how network traffic is intercepted and redirected in the OSN
List and configure clientless optimization methods
List and configure client-server optimization methods
Configure the Bytemobile Optimization Client
Understand the features of Unison™ service selection (USS) and create
USS rules
Retrieve key performance indicators (KPIs) from a running Bytemobile cluster
List and add operating system and Bytemobile patches and service packs
Access the customer support website and raise support issues
Perform troubleshooting on the OSN and the CSM
