Powerful Optimization Features
- Embedded Browser Optimization (EBO) enables leading mobile browser providers to embed Bytemobile optimization techniques natively in their products
- Dynamic bearer personalization allows the OSN to apply a different image quality depending on the user's bearer type (2.5G or 3G)
- Optimization personalization allows end users to tune and personalize their level of optimization
- Virtual OSNs for enterprise and mobile VPN support enable operators to transparently separate enterprise customers into distinct virtual OSNs in support of network-initiated VPNs, using policy-based routing with proper tunneling
- Header enrichment enables enhanced requests with attributes from RADIUS (such as MSISDN/MDN and SGSN address)
WAP 2.0 Gateway Module
The OSN includes an industry-standard WAP 2.0 gateway providing features such as these:
- Transparent capture, which enables explicit capture of WAP 2.0 traffic destined for other WAP 2.0 gateways without the need for browser reconfiguration
- Content transcoding, which allows any HTML pages to be transcoded to XHTML/MP pages
- User Agent Profile (UAProf) support and service, providing a way to learn the capabilities of clients and preferences of users
- Image resizing, whereby lossy image optimization for resized images is configurable and target screen size can be obtained from either EBO or HTTP headers or a UAProf and device database
- Content Type Filtering, which allows the OSN to block certain mime types being downloaded to handsets, thereby preventing transmission of content that is unsupported or too large for the device
- Header enrichment that enables enhanced requests with attributes from RADIUS
