OSN: MobileMatch

Personalized Services and Application Development

Makes Real-Time Profiles Available to Applications

The OSN MobileMatch™ application is the first of its kind to deliver real-time analysis of a mobile users’ browsing behavior. The software is designed to enhance the online experience of subscribers — rather than infringe on their privacy rights — by enabling both internal and third-party applications to personalize that experience without maintaining any persistent information or prior knowledge of the user. Access to users’ profile information is maintained completely within the operator’s network.

Accurately Reflects Changing Preferences

The OSN MobileMatch application continuously monitors the websites that users are visiting, analyzes these sites, records the data in users’ individual profiles, and updates the profiles to accurately capture changing preferences and ensure relevance of information.

Uses Robust Customizable Classification Database

The OSN MobileMatch analysis is a continuous process executed each time a web page is requested by a user. No configuration or integration is required to build a profile — the system uses an internal classification database that maps URLs to keywords. Operators may add entries to the database to classify internal portal pages, less-known pages or unclassified sites.

Simplifies Personalized Application Development

The OSN MobileMatch application stores users’ individual profiles in its internal subscriber database and makes this information available to authorized external applications. Some external applications may use information not previously available to the operator, such as home postal code, name and birth date. The MobileMatch software includes a cookie-like storage facility that allows applications to collect this information without maintaining a persistent user database, thereby greatly simplifying application development.

Permits Application Access to Profile Database

In addition to making user profile data available to content servers, the profiling application controls access to other information stored in the subscriber database, such as bookmarks, URL history, usage counters, personal cookies, and settings. Authorized applications, such as customer relationship management (CRM) systems, may access this information to further enhance the operator’s services.
