SANTA CLARA, Calif., January 12, 2010

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile internet solutions, today announced the promotion of Ian Sandman to vice president and general manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Reporting to Executive Chairman Hatim Tyabji, Sandman will be responsible for all of the company’s sales activities and customer relationships in EMEA.

A 15-year veteran of the global telecommunications industry, Sandman joined Bytemobile in 2001 as sales director, EMEA. He was promoted to area vice president in 2008. Sandman was responsible for building the company’s strategic relationships with Vodafone Group, T-Mobile International, KPN, Mobilkom Austria Group, and other leading wireless service providers.

“Since joining Bytemobile, Ian has progressively expanded his responsibilities, with increasing success in each role,” said Tyabji. “Thanks to his leadership, some of the largest network operators in the world have signed group supply agreements with Bytemobile and deployed our solutions across multiple properties. We are confident that Ian and his team will continue to deliver value to our customers throughout EMEA as the mobile data industry navigates the next phase of its growth.”

Informa Telecoms & Media has forecast that mobile users in Europe are expected to grow to 116.6 million in 2014, a dramatic increase from the 24.3 million reported for 2008.

Before joining Bytemobile, Sandman was a senior account manager for satellite projects at Ericsson and held various sales training and customer support engineering positions at Nortel Networks and ICV Limited.
