Bytemobile Launches Next-Generation Optimization Client for Windows Mobile, Enabling Network Operators to Reduce Data Traffic and Accelerate Web Browsing

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile internet solutions for network operators, today announced its next-generation Optimization Client for Microsoft Windows Mobile devices. The new product dramatically reduces data volume on both the down and the up links in the network to increase efficiency and capacity. As a result, operators are able to provide their customers with significantly faster web browsing compared to unoptimized services, across all wireless handsets from mass-market devices to high-end smartphones.

According to a recent study conducted by The Kelsey Group in conjunction with research partner ConStat, nearly one-fifth of all U.S. mobile subscribers currently own a smartphone, and nearly half of the remaining population plans to upgrade to a more advanced device within the next two years. Industry sources also estimate that wireless data traffic will roughly double each year from 2008 through 2012. Mobile internet search is growing in proportion to smartphone adoption, requiring network operators to manage traffic growth cost-effectively while continuing to increase average revenue per user (ARPU) through new value-added data services.

Since it requires no change to existing web browsers or other clients, the Optimization Client delivers a virtually transparent optimization experience to users on their existing handsets.

The Bytemobile Optimization Client for Windows Mobile is fully interoperable with Windows Mobile 5 for Smartphone, PocketPC and PocketPC Phone Edition, as well as Windows Mobile 6 Classic, Standard and Professional versions.
