Bytemobile Announces PTC as First Customer for Unison Content Charging Service

Major Operator in Poland Deploys Bytemobile Unison To Increase and Diversify Revenues

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in optimized Internet protocol (IP) services for mobile data networks, today announced that Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa Sp. z o.o. (PTC) of Poland, one of the largest mobile network operators in central Europe, has implemented its Unison™ open-architecture solution for the delivery of IP services with dynamic content. Initially, PTC deployed Bytemobile’s TollGate™ Mobile Content Charging solution to charge for value-added services delivered across multiple IP technologies.

The Unison-based solution enables PTC to accurately control overages for prepaid subscribers and thereby ensure revenue for service delivered on its ERA network. For both prepaid and postpaid subscribers, PTC can closely track the use of mobile data services such as web browsing, instant messaging, multimedia, and streaming video. As a result, PTC is able to charge for these services at individual rates, rather than a flat fee for all content traffic, and thereby diversify its current and future revenue streams. Of equal importance, the Unison-based solution is highly scalable to accommodate anticipated growth in PTC subscribers and services.

The OSN has been implemented by more than 65 mobile network operators worldwide.
