Bytemobile Adds Two Technology Industry Veterans to Its Board

Rod Randall and Woody Marshall appointed Directors at Bytemobile

Mountain View, California - April 11, 2005

Bytemobile, Inc., the global leader in mobile data optimization, announced today the addition of two technology industry veterans to its board of directors. The new members are Roderick K. Randall, a senior managing director at Vesbridge Partners, and Christopher P. (Woody) Marshall, a managing director at Trident Capital.

Rod Randall has spent more than 20 years in the networking industry as an entrepreneur, senior executive and venture capitalist. His considerable experience includes the role of Chief Marketing Officer of Lucent Technologies, as well as heading the marketing efforts of Ascend Communications and Stratus Computer. Rod began his technology career with Bell Labs in 1981. In 1987, he cofounded Teleos Communications and served as CTO among many roles, subsequently helping build the company from a startup to a multinational enterprise. As a senior managing director of Vesbridge Partners, Rod specializes in directing the company’s investments in wireless solutions.

“Bytemobile is well positioned to be the leader of the growing Content Aware Networking category. With more than 50 carriers now using its products around the world, Bytemobile has proven its skill in delivering and supporting the most demanding service provider customers on a global basis,” said Rod Randall. “I'm excited about Bytemobile’s future and look forward to helping shape the company.”

Woody Marshall has more than 13 years’ executive experience in venture capital. In his current position as a managing director at Trident Capital, he focuses on the payments and communications technology markets. He previously held financing positions at Banque Paribas and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Marshall is enthusiastic about his new role. “As a venture capitalist, I see many companies with good ideas, but few with the expertise, organization, and strength to create a successful business. Bytemobile has this rare combination. Its future is very promising, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members and the entire Bytemobile team.”
