Sprint Delivers LAN-Like Remote-Access Transmission Speeds to Business Customers with Nationwide Availability of Optigo™ Enterprise Optimizer from Bytemobile

Behind-the-firewall solution increases remote worker productivity with increased effective transmission speeds and immediate access to corporate data and applications.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - October 11, 2004

Business customers can now enable their mobile workforce to get the same amount of work done in just a fraction of the time. Sprint (NYSE: FON) announced today an agreement with Bytemobile, Inc., to be the first wireless carrier in the nation to offer the Optigo™ Enterprise Optimizer. Available through Sprint business sales channels, the Windows-based client-server solution is designed to increase productivity of mobile employees by delivering session resiliency and LAN-like speeds for corporate applications and email accessed remotely through dial IP services or wirelessly with laptops using Sprint PCS Connection Cards™. The behind-the-firewall solution supports a virtually unlimited number of users and resides within a company's existing infrastructure, placing security and administration in the hands of the company's corporate IT department.

"Sprint is listening to customers by improving the performance of corporate applications in mobile or remote situations through consistent connections and the availability of LAN-like speeds through compression and optimization technologies," said Tim Donahue, vice president — Enterprise Marketing, Sprint Business Solutions. "Now companies can spend less time to accomplish the same tasks without having to compromise security or make major software or hardware changes to the existing IT infrastructure."

The Optigo Enterprise Optimizer takes advantage of Bytemobile's proprietary Macara Dynamic Optimization Technology, which has been broadly deployed in networks around the world. The Macara technology incorporates three levels of optimization:

The Optigo Enterprise Optimizer offers key benefits for email and supports Microsoft® Outlook®, Lotus® Notes® and select POP3 email. Employees with Microsoft Outlook have an extra advantage and can select from one of three modes of optimization to deliver the best user experience, based on what type of connection is being utilized. Users can also take advantage of email-attachment management capabilities that allow for customized filtering and downloading of email based on attachment size and downloading with compression.

"Bytemobile is excited to team with Sprint in providing a LAN-like experience for remote workers," said Steve Livingston, executive vice president, worldwide sales and marketing for Bytemobile. "This new remote-access experience dramatically changes the way people think about staying connected to their email and other key applications when they are out of the office, whether wireless or dialup."

Because the Optigo solution is seamlessly integrated with Sprint's full offering of remote connectivity, businesses will be able to experience a tangible return on investment today, while still realizing benefits as Sprint launches new solutions in the future.
