New Optimization Client Software Release 2.2 Improves Overall Performance of Email and Web Applications for Dial-Up and Broadband Subscribers in Clientless
and Client-Server Implementations.
Bytemobile, the company dedicated to delivering pure, optimized access to ISPs, network operators, enterprises and other service providers, today announced that Bayou Internet, BT Retail, Dial Assurance, Family Safe Web, Philippines Online and Serious ISP have selected Bytemobile's Optimization Services Node (OSN) and Optimization Client (OC) to improve the performance of their dial-up networks. The end result of the new implementations will be an improved ISP end-user experience with download speeds up to six times faster. The half-dozen new customers complement Bytemobile's existing roster of leading operators and enterprises around the globe.
"We chose Bytemobile's OSN for two reasons," said Jerry Scoggins, founder of Bayou Internet. "We want to keep our subscribers happy, which means giving them fast download speeds and easy access to email and the web. At the same time, it's critical that we maintain the integrity and stability of our network infrastructure. Bytemobile's carrier-class acceleration solution met our needs."
The Bytemobile solution comprises server technology operating in either clientless and/or client-server modes and a new optimization client, OC 2.2, which Bytemobile developed specifically for the ISP market. The solution can be deployed on both dial-up and broadband networks.
"Our OC 2.2 release shows our ongoing commitment to the acceleration market," said David Nowicki, Bytemobile's vice president of product management and marketing. "We know that end users want fast, easy access to their web and email. And ISPs want easy deployment and valued-added services that build or maintain that subscriber base. We can help on all fronts."
The OC 2.2 release offers three major improvements in usability: a performance meter that lets subscribers see the actual data speed-up due to optimization; a pop-up blocker, which minimizes annoyance from pop-up windows and advertising; and a fully customizable standalone client complement to the Bytemobile SDK client, which allows subscribers to control their experience. Additional features of the OC 2.2 include the following:
Standalone or SDK Formats
These two formats offer ISPs the ability to either integrate the client into existing dialers or offer the client as a customizable standalone application.
WinSock Transparency
The client ensures full application, browser, email client, and proxy transparency while maintaining product stability.
Client Localization
Support for double bytes allows ISPs to purchase localized clients to meet the needs of specific international markets.
Smaller Download Size
The OC 2.2 is significantly smaller and more quickly downloaded than previous clients, so ISP customers can more efficiently access and benefit from client features.
