New Senior Executive to Focus on Data Access Product Line Expansion for
Network Operators, Service Providers and Enterprises.
Bytemobile, the company dedicated to delivering pure, optimized access to network operators, service providers and enterprises, today announced that Brian Heaney has joined the company as vice president of engineering. Heaney will direct Bytemobile's engineering team and the development of the company's data optimization, client and service solutions.
"Brian's deep experience in software and client-server platform development is already making a strong contribution to Bytemobile, especially as we expand our data access solutions to enterprise customers," said Bytemobile Executive Chairman Hatim Tyabji. "Additionally, he's a seasoned builder and leader of teams, which is important as our engineering group grows."
Heaney joins Bytemobile with 20 years of experience in engineering and engineering management. He spent the last seven years as senior vice president of engineering at Liberate Technologies where he was responsible for building and managing their engineering organization of more than 100 engineers and developing three generations of client-server platforms for interactive television applications. Prior to Liberate, Heaney worked for five years as director of CPU software development for Apple Computer and was also responsible for system software on the Power Mac product line. He began his career at General Electric as a systems and software engineer in the software simulation division.
"Based on traction within the operator market, it's clear that Bytemobile has the best-in-class optimization technology and reporting capabilities," said Heaney. "My mission is to continue on that success of developing great products for the operator market and leveraging our core Macara optimization and access technology into a range of solutions for the enterprise market. That's an exciting challenge, especially as demand for very fast, reliable and optimized access to networks increases."
Heaney has a master's in electrical engineering from Duke University and bachelor's degrees in engineering and economics from Swarthmore College where he was a Phi Beta Kappa.
