Bytemobile continues to innovate so that its customers continue to succeed.
Bytemobile executed the first commercial network deployment of dynamic optimization technology at Vodafone UK in 2001. Since then, we have led the industry in technological innovation directed exclusively at the mobile network operator delivering data to consumers.
Building on web optimization and gateway technology, we created the first in-line software platform for the integration and deployment of multiple data services in a single network node.
On this platform, we added video optimization and delivered web, Flash and multimedia content adaptation for all handsets. Leveraging our network position and traffic visibility, we enhanced our products so that operators could personalize and monetize video and audio play, web browsing, social networking, and emerging mobile applications.
As data traffic continues to grow and subscriber expectations rise, video optimization and related applications such as content caching, policy control and mobile analytics enable operators to manage their changing network loads and offer new services that enrich the individual user experience, reduce churn and increase adoption of new services.
Foreseeing the traffic explosion in 3G networks and the evolution to 4G technology, we envisioned consolidation of multiple traffic management functions across all layers of the network stack in a single highly scalable network element. The R&D effort born of this vision produced Adaptive Traffic Management, with seven dimensions of traffic control for operators to increase network capacity and improve the subscriber experience.
Ongoing R&D Investment
Far be it from us to rest on our laurels. We continue to invest 20-25% of our annual revenue in product development. In addition, we commit at least 10% of our total R&D budget to research that fuels new ideas and drives them to commercialization. Bytemobile’s history of innovation has built a portfolio of more than 20 U.S. and international patents, with more than 35 applications pending.
Innovation continues to push the boundaries of our business as we explore and develop the rapidly evolving mobile data landscape. We leave the development of “me too” products to others.

Our global R&D team is strategically located in technology and academic centers such as Patras, Greece; Beijing, China; Champaign, Illinois; and California’s Silicon Valley. This team is joined by a systems integration team that provides custom solutions and simplifies complex deployments as a single-source prime contractor.
