Senior Quality Engineer – Multimedia Networking
Responsibilities:
- Define and fully execute product and integration test plans, diagnose test failures and produce timely test reports
- Identify and develop system and component automation test scripts to enhance efficiency of product testing
- Continually and proactively look for ways to improve the product testing processes and procedures through appropriate test design and use of tools
- Assist in production of effective documentation and test specifications for both internal and external use
- Be responsible for the testing and review of product installation guides/manuals and functional specifications
- Communicate with customers and gather test requirements from customer feedback
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering
- At least five years of experience in software testing
- Demonstrated success in specifying, implementing and maintaining functional and integration test plans in a commercial software environment
- Demonstrated skills in building and maintaining automated test infrastructure
- Strong UNIX/Linux and networking skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of C/C++ and Perl
- Experience with TCP/IP routing and protocols such as UDP, WAP, HTTP, SSH, and multimedia networking protocols such as RTSP and RTP
- Experience with wireless networks (3G, 2.xG, GPRS, GSM, CDMA, and so on)
- Experience with enterprise software and service-based offerings
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Highly organized, with a strong analytical and structured approach to problem solving and testing
- Proven, effective problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal, within the team and across departmental teams
- Ability to look at the big picture, understand product architectures and requirements and testing challenges, and come up with effective test methodologies and plans
- Good team player who recognizes and contributes to the value and quality of the team's deliverables
- Professional and organized in approaching the tasks set and able to complete them independently, on time and to budget
- Minimal need for direction or supervision on assigned projects
- Proven ability to learn new technologies independently
- Takes responsibility and is prepared to take ownership of assigned tasks
- Self-motivated, self-starter
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with video and audio quality testing
- Experience with mobile devices
- Experience designing, developing and leading automation framework development and automation of test cases
- Extensive experience with client-server, peer-to-peer applications, networked multimedia applications
- Advanced UNIX/Linux administration and networking skills
- Programming scripting skills (Perl)
