Project Manager (North America)

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the successful delivery of complex Solaris centric integration projects of mobile data applications to mobile operators.
  • Execute project scoping, planning and resource allocation.
  • Maintain project schedule, risks and dependencies.
  • Manage the client's requirements, perceptions and expectations of software and consultants.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, ensuring all are focused on the operational direction of the project and have a complete understanding of the client's requirements.
  • Provide coordination and version control of all project documentation.
  • Resolve complex project issues, using independent decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Maintain and promote regular communications through regular project status meetings (both internal and client facing), weekly project reports, emails, updated project plans, and the like.

    Qualifications Required:

  • At least five years of project management experience in a commercial or professional services environment, including one or more of the following types of projects:
    • IT consulting
    • Deployment of networked applications
    • Carrier-grade client-server application rollout
  • Experience working with telecom operators.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work on multiple international projects of between $300K and $1M.
  • Ability to remotely control, organize and manage multiskilled, multicultural teams of customers, partners, third parties, consultants and engineers.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them to development and product management teams.
  • Flexibility to travel within the territory.

Desirable:

  • A university degree or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience in delivering mobile data applications.
  • Knowledge of LAN network infrastructure: security, routing, network management, performance management.
  • Knowledge of mobile data traffic and mobile data devices.
  • Experience with project delivery involving Sun and Solaris, Cisco/Nortel switches, routers, and load balancers; hands-on experience a particular plus.
  • Experience with one or more project management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese desirable.
