Product Marketing Manager/Director (Mountain View, CA)

The Product Marketing Manager/Director will assume the challenging task of promoting complex technology and innovative service ideas and business models, while highlighting related consumer benefits. S/he will work with the sales team and the finance team to ensure that everyone involved in the sales process understands and can articulate the commercial value of the products.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish “position”: where the product resides in the minds of the people the company wants to reach
  • Collect the data, develop the tools and establish the financial benefits of products
  • Articulate unique value propositions, business benefits and product positioning
  • Define product pricing, licensing and packaging details
  • Be responsible for the pricing strategy of all products and services, including the development of pricing models, product valuations and price lists
  • Develop product-related collateral for a nontechnical audience
  • Support sales and marketing activities
  • Evangelize the company to key industry influencers and thought leaders

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical and/or business degree
  • Experience in a similar role within the service provider value chain
  • Deep understanding of the service provider market
  • Strong working understanding of value propositions, product differentiation, cost/benefit analysis, and product positioning
  • Previous experience in defining ROI models and setting prices
  • Strong grasp of pricing and licensing strategies
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work quickly and independently as well as within a team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Creative writing ability
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally
