Director, Marketing (Mountain View, CA)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the success of the product; achieve revenue, profit and market share goals
  • Build a marketing plan to effectively communicate the positioning and value proposition (business and technical) of the product
  • Create and drive outbound marketing strategy, in collaboration with the marketing communications function, to establish mind share among customers and ecosystem partners
  • Create and drive the outbound public relations plan, targeting business and trade media, analysts, and speaking engagements
  • Create sales collateral
  • Create a new product category and establish the product as number one in that category
  • Drive the product into new ecosystems, with formal relationships on a per-region basis, to establish unique product category differentiation
  • Develop and drive go-to-market plans with specific ecosystem partners, in collaboration with the business development function
  • Develop business-level sales tools to enable the sales teams to sell higher within customer organizations
  • As product marketing champion, work closely with account teams to ensure they have all the sales tools and knowledge required for their success
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis
  • Identify, qualify and manage solution partners
  • Work with Product Management to create product requirements documents
  • Formulate overall product strategy and drive the product roadmap
  • Evaluate new business/product opportunities and bring forward proposals
  • Define and deliver new product sales training, working with Product Management
  • Support and participate in trade shows and industry events
  • Develop and conduct product demonstrations
  • Conduct detailed product performance evaluations

Required Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years experience overall product marketing experience
  • Consumer marketing experience within the mobile market
  • Demonstrated success in launching and managing an end-to-end service through the carrier channel and associated ecosystems
  • Strong experience with mobile technologies
  • Strong marketing experience in developing and communicating the business-level value proposition, product differentiation, cost/benefit analysis, and product positioning
  • International business and marketing experience
  • Ability to conduct primary and secondary market research
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. MBA degree preferred
  • Highly motivated
  • Ability to collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams
  • Experienced in working with engineers, customers and consultants to verify product features and recommend new features
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical and business issues clearly
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
