IT Engineer (Patras, Greece)

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the IT Lead, perform systems and network administration: management, documentation, support, planning, and evolution of

  • The heterogeneous computing infrastructure of the Bytemobile European Development Center (BEDC) (Windows, Solaris, Linux platforms)
  • The BEDC networking infrastructure (LAN, VLANs, firewall/routers/DMZ, redundant internet links, VPN links, satellite/cellular links)
  • BEDC development and quality engineering testbeds

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Two years’ experience in systems and networks management
  • Experience and expertise in IT procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of and expertise in Solaris, Unix, Windows systems management (Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Active Directory, Exchange Server)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Exchange management, backup, restoring operations
  • Advanced knowledge of and expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting state-of-the-art IP LAN/VLANs (wired and wireless), wide-area IP networks, and IP-based Virtual Private Networks
  • Advanced knowledge of and expertise in IP security
  • Scripting programming languages (Perl or TCL)
  • Excellent oral and written command of the English language
  • Experience in collaboration with other teams in an extremely dynamic company environment
  • Fulfilled military obligations or official delay to join the army until December of 2009
  • Experience with VoIP solutions a plus
