Technical Trainer (Europe)

Responsibilities:

The Technical Trainer delivers high-quality training classes on Bytemobile products to Bytemobile customers, partners and internal staff. This position has a deep understanding of all supported Bytemobile products and interfacing networking equipment. The Technical Trainer also manages logistics: setting schedules, shipping materials and providing evaluation results. The position requires travel to Bytemobile customer locations, primarily throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

  • Deliver training for Bytemobile products that meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of all products in the Bytemobile product line
  • Be able to discuss the market application of the customer’s use of Bytemobile products, based on a solid understanding of the customer deployment environment
  • Organize training logistics and record-keeping for Bytemobile’s worldwide installed base
  • Provide headquarters with customer feedback on Bytemobile products
  • Actively seek to increase knowledge, work performance and competence
  • Become fully knowledgeable of department procedures and processes and be able to review, develop and improve them

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years’ training experience in a networking/technology environment; international training experience preferred
  • Minimum three years’ demonstrated experience with core networking technologies, including skills in monitoring and debugging and familiarity with capacity planning and design
  • Minimum three years’ demonstrated experience with web and application-level software, using skills in areas such as HTTP(S)/HTML, IMAP, SMTP, LDAP, POP3, and MAPI
  • Minimum three years’ experience with TCP/IP routing and networking in the following areas: VLANs, VPN, GRE, firewalls, NAT, load balancing, OSPF, RIP, and BGP
  • Minimum three years’ experience with UNIX (Linux and/or Solaris) administration
  • Experience in implementing or diagnosing telecommunication products into wireless or wireline networks; customer support or professional services a plus
  • Intimate knowledge of internet technology and operations
  • Familiarity and experience with mobile networking, with skills in CDMA, 1xRTT, GSM, GPRS, PDSN, SGSN, GGSN and tunneling protocols; experience with wireless carriers a plus
  • Ability to travel internationally, up to 75%, mostly within EMEA
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
