Consultant or Senior Consultant
(U.K., Germany, Spain, Poland, Slovakia)
Responsibilities:
- Handle deployment of mobile data applications in mobile operator networks
- Provide input on architecture and design options, operational concepts and application acceptance test plan
- Plan and design TCP/IP-based solutions with wireless components
- Provide solution documentation and authoring of technical white papers
- Perform network analysis and decoding of TCP/IP and data stacks in troubleshooting scenarios
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in implementing carrier-grade client-server applications in a commercial environment
- Systems integration expertise with TCP/IP skills in data networking and internetworking
- Experience with configuration and installation of Cisco/Nortel switches, routers and load balancers
- Good knowledge of LAN network infrastructure: security, routing, network management, performance management
- Ability to analyze HTTP, HTTPS, POP, IMAP, FTP, SNMP, and other data traffic
- Ability to configure VLANs and GRE and VPN tunnels
- Expertise in Sun and Solaris
- Familiarity with development processes and life cycles
- Skill at producing clear and accurate solution design diagrams
- Ability to produce succinct technical design documentation and test plans
- Ability to articulate sophisticated software solutions to network operators, large enterprises and internal customers, including non-technical staff
- Ability to understand customer requirements and translate to development and product management teams
- Ability to produce and deliver technical presentations to customers and fellow engineers
- Willingness to travel abroad on short notice for several weeks at a time within the EMEA territory
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in data communications and telecommunications or equivalent experience
- CCNA-LAN certification
- Cisco CCNP certification
- Experience in implementing mobile data applications
- Previous experience with systems integrators, consultancy firms or professional services environments
- Experience working with remote multicultural, multi-skilled internal teams and customers
- Mobile network design and configuration
- Broad understanding of WAN network infrastructure and protocols (Frame, ATM, MPLS, ISDN)
- Broad understanding of mobile network infrastructure (2.5 and 3G, GPRS, UMTS)
- Good knowledge of mobile data traffic and mobile data devices
