The Bytemobile professional services architects’ team is responsible for the solution design of deployments and is an escalation point and ultimate owner for all technical issues arising within a deployment process following handover from pre-sales activities. The solution architect should have broad knowledge of high availability network and application design principles, and should also have a solid understanding of and experience with the typical operational criteria and management and monitoring integration required by telecom providers. In addition, the architect is the escalation point for all technical questions and issues arising throughout the project life cycle, and acts as a focal point for full systems design integrity.
Responsibilities:- Act as senior technical authority with key customers for delivery and integration of the Bytemobile solution
- Assume primary responsibility for the creation and maintenance of solution design and associated documentation based on customer requirements and product capabilities, including network design, and application deployment/configuration
- Work closely with customers to assess design options and to agree on key operational and performance criteria
- Review and approve the low-level design used for test and production builds
- Support the Bytemobile professional services test team in determining the scope and definition of testing
- Act as technical escalation point in troubleshooting and resolution of any issues arising during the deployment and acceptance processes — for example, application troubleshooting, network/TCP issues
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of all Bytemobile products and disseminate important information to the PS and SE teams
- Work very closely with support and engineering teams to facilitate rapid resolution of product or deployment issues
- Represent professional services within product management to help define feature requests and product direction from customer feedback
- Assist the program managers, project managers and directors in scoping project deployment plans based on the Bytemobile product set
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and implementing carrier-grade client-server applications and network infrastructure in a telecom/enterprise environment
- Strong documentation and presentation skills for articulating design options and decisions to customers, including senior managers and operational teams
- Ability to communicate complex solutions to network operators, large enterprises and internal customers, including nontechnical staff
- Experience with design/configuration/installation of switches, routers and load balancers (Cisco/Nortel/F5/Radware)
- Experience with blade server infrastructure (IBM/HP/Cisco UCS)
- Deep knowledge of IP network infrastructure: L2/L3 networking, security, routing, network management, performance management
- Systems integration expertise with extensive TCP/IP skills in data networking and internetworking
- Able to analyze HTTP, HTTPS, RTMP, POP, IMAP, FTP, SNMP, and other data traffic
- Experience with the following technologies and protocols: VRRP/HSRP, 802.1Q, VLANS, MSTP/STP, OSPF, SNMP, HPOV, IPMP
- Understanding of image, audio and video codecs and container formats
- Good experience with UNIX/Linux (Solaris/RHEL), including Jumpstart/Kickstart
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in datacom/telecom or equivalent
- Experience with designing and implementing mobile data applications, especially data optimization services
- CCNA-LAN/CCNP certification
- Solaris System Administration certifications
- Experience with mobile network design and configuration
- Experience working with remote multicultural, multiskilled internal teams and customers
- Broad understanding of WAN network infrastructure and protocols (Frame, ATM, MPLS, ISDN)
- Good understanding of mobile network infrastructure (RAN/Packet core, 2.5 and 3G, GPRS, UMTS)
- Good knowledge of mobile data traffic and mobile data devices
- Able to travel on short notice
