Bytemobile’s corporate citizenship addresses the human society in which it operates, the natural environment whose resources it consumes, and the industry ecosystem of customers, partners and suppliers that it supports. As the global leader in mobile internet solutions for wireless network operators, the company manages corporate responsibility as a business priority that is central to its core values.
Corporate Responsibility Statement
Bytemobile is committed to its corporate responsibility, as defined in terms of environment, community and ethical behavior. We strive to be an industry role model and to fulfill our responsibility in two ways: 1) through sustainable business practices that govern our global operations and reduce our environmental footprint; 2) through products and services that enable our customers and partners to deliver the mobile Internet to consumers in a sustainable network environment.
Principles of Conduct
- Forced or Involuntary Labor. Bytemobile does not use forced or involuntary labor of any type (e.g., forced, bonded, indentured, or involuntary prison labor); employment is voluntary.
- Child Labor. Bytemobile does not use child labor. The term “child” refers to any person employed under the age of 15 (or 14 where the law of the country permits), or under the age of completion for compulsory education, or under the minimum age for employment in the country, whichever is greatest. Bytemobile supports the use of legitimate workplace apprenticeship programs which comply with all laws and regulations applicable to such apprenticeship programs.
- Wages and Benefits. At a minimum, Bytemobile complies with all applicable wage and hour laws and regulations, including those relating to minimum wages, overtime hours, piece rates, and other elements of compensation, and provides legally mandated benefits.
- Working Hours. Bytemobile does not exceed prevailing local work hours and appropriately compensates overtime. Bytemobile does not require its employees to work more than 60 hours per week, including overtime, except in extraordinary business circumstances with their consent. In countries where the maximum work week is less, that standard applies. Bytemobile employees are allowed at least one day off per seven-day week.
- Nondiscrimination. Bytemobile does not discriminate in hiring and employment practices on grounds of race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, marital status, pregnancy, political affiliation, or disability.
- Respect and Dignity. Bytemobile treats all of its employees with respect and dignity, and does not use corporal punishment, threats of violence or other forms of physical coercion or harassment.
- Harassment-Free Environment. It is Bytemobile’s policy to maintain a work environment free from all forms of harassment and to insist that all employees be treated with dignity, respect and consideration. Any comments or conduct relating to a person’s race, color, religion, sex, gender, pregnancy, national origin, citizenship, disability, ancestry, age, marital status, or sexual preference or orientation, or any other characteristics protected by state of federal law — which fail to respect the dignity and feelings of the individual — are unacceptable. This policy extends to comments or conduct of a sexual nature, where such behavior tends to offend or threaten a fellow employee. This policy applies to all area of employee activity including the use of electronic media.
- Freedom of Association. Bytemobile respects the legal rights of employees to join or to refrain from joining worker organizations, including trade unions. Bytemobile has the right to establish favorable employment conditions and to maintain effective employee communications programs as a means of promoting positive employee relations that make employees view third-party representation as unnecessary.
- Health and Safety. Bytemobile provides its employees with a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Consistent with these obligations, Bytemobile has implemented effective programs that encompass life safety, incident investigation, chemical safety, ergonomics, etc., and provides the same standard of health and safety in any housing that is provided for employees. Bytemobile has also implemented management systems to meet these requirements.
- Protection of the Environment. Bytemobile operates in a manner that is protective of the environment. At a minimum, Bytemobile complies with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards, such as requirements regarding chemical and waste management and disposal, recycling, industrial wastewater treatment and discharge, air emissions controls, environmental permits, and environmental reporting. Bytemobile also complies with any additional environmental requirements specific to the products or services that it provides to customers as called for in design specifications and contract documents. - Laws, Including Regulations and Other Legal Requirements. Bytemobile complies with all applicable laws and regulations in all locations where it conducts business.
- Ethical Dealings. Bytemobile observes the highest ethical principles in performing work. The company is familiar with and strictly complies with all laws and regulations regarding bribery, corruption and prohibited business practices. Bytemobile and its subsidiaries and affiliates do not offer, promise, make, or agree to make any payments or gifts (of money or anything of value) directly or indirectly to anyone for the purpose of influencing, or inducing anyone to influence, decisions in their favor.
- Communications. Bytemobile makes its principles of conduct and other relevant information available to employees in the native language of the employees and their supervisors.
- Reporting of Corporate Responsibility Violations. Bytemobile encourages employees to report violations of its corporate responsibility principles of conduct to management confidentially through a dedicated email address, corpres@bytemobile.com.
- Bytemobile’s Suppliers and Agents. Bytemobile makes best efforts to extend these principles of conduct to its suppliers and agents engaged in the production of goods and services.
Bytemobile, Inc. is a member of the Internet Watch Foundation, the UK internet hotline for the public to report their inadvertent exposure to online child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world and criminally obscene content and incitement to racial hatred content hosted in the UK.
