In addition to Bytemobile, Hatim Tyabji serves on the boards of Best Buy (NYSE), DepotPoint, Jasper Wireless, Merchant eSolutions, Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, and TAFMO. He is also ambassador-at-large for Benchmark Capital. Before joining Bytemobile, Tyabji was founding chairman and CEO of Saraide, which was acquired by InfoSpace in 2000, and chairman and CEO of VeriFone (NYSE), which was acquired by Hewlett-Packard Company in 1997. Prior to VeriFone, he held several management positions at Sperry Corporation, the last one being president, Information Systems. Tyabji is the recipient of the 2001 Point Of Sale (POS) Industry's Lifetime Achievement award, the 2000 Academy of Management Distinguished Executive of the Year Award for Excellence in Strategic Leadership and the Silicon India Lifetime Achievement award. Tyabji holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. in International Business. He is also a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program and holds an honorary doctorate from the State University of New York. Kevin Harvey is a seasoned entrepreneur with a long track record of developing innovative technologies into successful enterprises. Prior to Benchmark, he was founder, president and CEO of Approach Software, where he led the development of the world's first end-user client-server database for Windows. Approach Software was purchased by Lotus Development in 1993. Before founding Approach Software, Harvey founded Styleware and pioneered integrated software for the Apple II personal computer. Styleware was purchased by Claris Corporation, where Harvey's team went on to create ClarisWorks, one of the best-selling software programs for the Macintosh. In addition to Bytemobile, he oversees Benchmark's investments in Broadbase Software, Collabnet, Ingenio, Kana (Nasdaq), Metaweb, MySQL, oDesk, Proofpoint, Red Hat Software (Nasdaq), RemarQ Communities (acquired by Critical Path), Tellme (acquired by Microsoft), Terracotta, When.com (acquired by America Online), and Zimbra. A founding principal of Ericsson Venture Partners, Mark McAndrews has over 25 years of financial management experience. His investment focus is network infrastructure, software platforms, applications, gateways and tools, terminals, and components. Prior to the firm's founding, McAndrews was COO of the Global Investment Banking Division of Merrill Lynch, where he also served as division chief administrative officer and CFO. Previously, he was president of Merrill Lynch Capital Partners, where he oversaw the management of two private equity funds totaling $700 million. McAndrews also served on the investment committee of Merrill Lynch's Technology Venture Capital Fund, whose investments included Backweb, Calico, Emulex, Metawave, Netro, Vitesse, and Vitria. He began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen and also worked at Standard and Poor's. Woody Marshall joined Trident Capital in 1996 as a principal and has been a managing director since 1998. His investment focus is the payments and communications technology markets. From 1992 to 1994, he was an associate with the Leveraged Capital Group of Banque Paribas. Earlier in his career, Marshall was a financial analyst in the Corporate Finance department of Chase Manhattan Bank, where he specialized in merchant banking transactions. In addition to Bytemobile, he currently serves on the boards of Advanced Payment Solutions, Arantech, eGistics, MegaPath Networks, Merchant eSolutions, SideStep, and Xata Corporation (Nasdaq). He is also responsible for overseeing Trident's investments in AirTight Networks, mBlox and Sabre Holdings. Rod Randall has spent over 24 years in the networking industry as an entrepreneur, senior executive and venture capitalist. Before forming Vesbridge Partners, he was a general partner at St. Paul Venture Capital, where he led the mobile investment practice. His investments have included Dynamicsoft (acquired by Cisco Systems), Bitfone (acquired by Hewlett-Packard Company), FusionOne, and Visage Mobile. Previously, Randall was CMO of Lucent's Service Provider Group, which he had joined in 1999 upon the acquisition of Ascend Communications by Lucent for $24 billion. He was vice president of Worldwide Marketing at Ascend, and before that, vice president of Worldwide Marketing and general manager at Stratus Computer, which was acquired by Ascend. Prior to Stratus, Randall was vice president of Strategic Market Development at Madge Networks, following its 1996 acquisition of Teleos Communications. He had co-founded Teleos in 1987 and served as CTO, vice president of Business Development and vice president of WAN Access Technology. Randall began his career at AT&T Bell Labs and holds several U.S. patents. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with Highest Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
